Good Deed of the Day
Hi Everyone!! So I have an amazing story I would like to share. It has deeply touched my heart, and everyone involved.
The other day my Fiancé and I found a wallet in the street. It contained $230, Medicare Cards, Credit Cards, Insurance Cards, Social Security Cards. Besides these things that were replaceable, there were black and white photos of the husband of who we assumed the wallet belonged to. We knew instantly that we had to return the wallet as they had so many personal items we knew must mean so much to someone. My initial thought was to mail the belongs to the address on the ID Card, but my Fiancé pointed out that it was a Miami address and they were just in the Central Florida area just a couple days ago (according to the receipts we found in the wallet). When we got home we decided to google the address. Sure enough, the address had recently been sold this past June. We proceeded to call the BJ's card and provide them with the membership number in an attempt to either retrieve the woman's phone number or provide them with our number so she can call us back. Unfortunately, the phone number they had on file was inactive. My Fiancé decided to call a phone number on a business card, which happened to belong to the wallet owners husband's Urologist. We were finally able to retrieve her number; my Fiancé called her to let her know we had her wallet. She instantly started to cry, she had no idea her wallet was even lost to begin with!!! We drove over to her home which happened to be 15 minutes away from us. She told us that her husband recently passed away in January 2016 and she just moved to Mount Dora to live with her Daughter. She is an 80 year old woman, and had met and been with her husband since she was 14 years old! Her husband knew he was terminal and gave his wallet to her with his personal belongings in it. I'm so happy we found her wallet the same day she lost it and did not have to endure the heartbreak of knowing she lost the wallet. She also told us that she looks through it every night before she goes to sleep, which made me even more happy that we were able to bring it back to her in such a short period of time!! It was a blessing for us to find it.
We met her daughter and son in law and were able to spend over an hour with this beautiful family! The positivity we felt once we left their home was unbelievable. The following day we received calls from her son in Texas and her cousin in California just to thank us for our kindness. I think their gratefulness meant more to us than what we did for them.
Dear New York
Hi Guys!! So I recently just moved down to Florida which can explain my mini hiatus from blogging. As much as I wanted to pour my heart and soul into this I was utterly consumed with moving my life across the country. As excited as I am it is also about that time, time for me to say goodbye. It seems surreal to have to say goodbye, but as all things, life moves you in different directions. For the past 34 years you've been the only home I've known. I want to say thank you. Thank you for the amazing childhood memories, the teenage memories and new traditions I was able to make with my new family. I'll never forget the sweet smell of spring in the air, the hot an hazy summer days, rollerblading outside with the people the made the most impression on my life.. and as quickly as that came, the smell of the crisp air around the corner (which meant school was starting soon) .. walking up to the top of the statue of liberty on a school trip and vowing never to do it again.. the heartbreak of 911 and how it impacted us all..visiting the windows on 5th Ave with my mother at Christmas time.. taking my children to see the tree at Rockefeller and witnessing the excitement on their little faces.. these are just paragraphs in a book I'll never forget. So now on to my new venture, I pray that this new place I call home will give me as many fond memories as you have! Until next time ❤
My Son My Heart
Hi All!
I took my sons to a party on Saturday and for the first time my oldest volunteered himself to participate in a magic show. I was so nervous for him, I guess in part because I'm so scared to stand up in front of crowds and partly because I thought he would get nervous and freeze up - which he didn't. Truth be told, it was a kids party so how much would that have mattered, and by the way he's 3. He was so excited and so brave to participate, I got all mushy inside and was overwhelmed with pride. When we left the party I told him how proud I was of him and how brave he was for volunteering in the magic show. As if I wasn't already vulnerable to my little man, he says "Did they like me mama?". Oh.My.Goodness! My sweet little boy. I tell him "of course they liked you! You were the star of the show!" His little eyes just lit up and said "yeah!". He makes my heart melt more and more each day. Just writing this I'm started to tear up again. To all the mama's other there, what endearing, heart melting things has your little ones told you?

The 2 Nail Products I CANNOT Live Without
Hi All!!!
So the other day my coworker had the two nail products above and I tried them out. OMG that was it for me. First of all, I am a CHRONIC cuticle biter! So the cuticle oil is heaven sent. The brand is Essie (which is one of my favorite brands for polish). This oil leaves my cuticles so smooth and it has an apricot sent. Now the top coat....Ah.May.Zing. I'm pretty much a fan of any Sally Hansen top coat polishes, but this polish takes the cake. It leaves your nails so smooth and I find that it leaves my nails looking like I got a gel manicure without actually having to get one :) This 4-in-1 treatment also serves as a base coat, high-shine top gloss coat, a strengthener and growth treatment!! Hope you enjoy it as much as I do!!!

Eczema DIY Cream
Hi All!!!
I was recently browsing the web for DIY homemade Eczema creams for my baby as the over the counter lotions have not been very effective, and I came across a homemade Tea Tree Oil treatment. I have seen some real improvement with his skin. I found this remedy on Pinterest (of course!) and listed the ingredients below and the directions on how to make the lotion. I also made a small pot for my coworker since she suffers from severe eczema. She absolutely raves about the cream. She has said the cream has lightened her skin and alleviates the itch. I also have been bathing my son with the Shea Moisture Raw Shea Butter bar soap. I used this bar soap with my oldest son a couple of years ago when he bad eczema and when I recently found it sitting on the shelf of GNC I was so excited I bought it!! I love this soap it's sooo moisturizing, the only complaint I have is that it has a strong fragrance. I guess it's because of the Frankincense and Myrrh extracts. So between the Myrrh and the Tea Tree oil, my 1 year is walking around smelling like a little lumberjack!! Hey! At least his skin is getting better. LOL
Ingredients:
1/4 cup shea butter
1/4 cup coconut oil
15 drops lavender essential oil, therapeutic grade only
5 drops tea tree essential oil, therapeutic grade only
Directions:
- Fill a saucepan halfway full with water. Heat the water over medium high heat (but do not boil).
- In a mason jar add the shea butter and the coconut oil. Place mason jar in the saucepan (like a makeshift double boiler) until the oils melt.
- Remove the mason jar and allow it to cool slightly on the counter before you add the essential oils. It’s okay if the oil is warm when you add the essential oils, but it should not be hot.
- Mix the essential oil into coconut/shea mixture and put the jar in the fridge to get firm.
- You can use the eczema cream at this point, but if you’d like more of a “whipped” body butter lotion then put the oil in a kitchen aid stand mixer and mix on high for several minutes until the eczema cream looks like whipped butter. You may have to scrape the sides of the mixer down a few times.
- Apply liberally to any affected area of the skin.
Healthy Snack Alert
So we have been trying different foods in the home to practice healthy eating. I desperately need to lose weight, but that's besides the point. My fiance and I have been trying to steer away from buying junk food (I'm a chocolate freak) and stick to buying a lot of gluten free products. We came across these 'Harvest Stone' crackers (my fiance picked out) and they're made from brown rice, sesame and flax seeds. My fiance is a big foodie, and is always inventing little recipes and snacks to try. I always tell him his food looks better than mine! So he cut up bananas and added Nutella (which is Gluten Free) to the crackers (which are also Gluten Free) and made this healthy snack. Wanted to share in case anyone wanted to try it :) Enjoy!!!!!!

The Good Dinosaur
So I watched the good dinosaur with my son's the other night, and let me tell you, the waterworks were on! What a tear jerker. I haven't cried that much since Mufasa died! It was such a cute movie, now my son and his his dad insist I call the boys Arlo and Spot! Hahaha.
